Kassie Marble, a Stephenville High School senior who just graduated, has a bright future ahead. After recently returning from the UIL state science competition, the daughter of Dr. Daniel and Kathy Marble is enjoying graduation and looks forward to starting school at Tarleton State University.

"I want to major in physics and psychology," Marble said. "I want to get a bachelor's degree in both and then I'll either attend med school or go to graduate school and work towards a PhD in medical physics."

What was your favorite subject in high school?

Definitely physics. I've learned that I can do anything that I put my mind to. It teaches us how the world works around us and it teaches you to think. To be honest my life revolves around the subject.

What's your most memorable moment while attending SHS?

Probably going to state UIL. We stayed in an amazing hotel and I roomed with probably the smartest girl I've ever met. It was awesome being around such amazing people the whole time. Everyone there was so committed to winning and achieving their goal of competing in the competition.

Who is your role model?

My entire family. My dad taught me how to be passionate about something I really love and If I want to be successful in life I have to do something that I truly love and wouldn't mind putting hours of work into. My mother taught me loyalty, she taught me what love is and never to give up at something. My brother also taught me a lot. He's two years older than me and I watched him work so hard and achieve so many goals. He competed in UIL state science and also was the valedictorian. He's always believed in me to succeed.

What's your favorite movie?

I'd have to say all of the John Wayne movies. I guess it's because classic movies are just my thing. Some of the best actors are in those movies and they're always combined.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?

CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva, Switzerland. So many things have happened there like the birth of the World Wide Web and also the creation of the Higgs boson particle. There are so many brilliant minds there and it would be an honor to meet them.
