On a night when Stephenville's Brock Morrison hit the strike zone just 50 percent of the time and two of the three Alvarado pitchers couldn't find it that often, the runs piled up in a hurry, particularly in the second inning.

Stephenville outscored Alvarado 8-4 in the second on its way to an 11-8 road win to remain unbeaten in District 7-3A play Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets are 6-0 in league games.

Josh Bulla fueled Stephenville's efforts from the plate, going 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and four runs batted in. Daniel Bullard had a double and two RBIs, and Colby Woodard also unloaded a double. Noah Hobbs was 2-for-3 from the plate and scored three runs while driving in another.

Morrison pitched the first three innings and was awarded the win while surrendering four runs, two of them earned, on just two hits. He issued a season-high four walks and also struck out four. Bullard pitched the final four innings and sat six batters down on strikes while walking three. He also allowed four runs, all earned, on four hits.

Alvarado's pitchers issued 14 walks. There were a total of 21 free passes on the night.

Stephenville hosts Venus on Friday. First pitch at James T. Young Field is set for 7:30 p.m.
