Tarleton State junior Brenna Hennan was named Lone Star Conference Softball Co-Pitcher of the Week by league officials in Richardson Tuesday.
Hennan pitched a pair of complete games during Tarleton's four-game sweep of Eastern New Mexico at Tarleton Softball Complex Friday and Saturday. Her Friday performance was abbreviated by the mercy rule with the TexAnns winning 8-0 in five innings. On Saturday she went all seven innings in the circle for a 2-1 win.
For the weekend, the Burkburnett product worked 12 innings and allowed just one earned run. That's an ERA of 0.58 while surrendering just one extra-base hit among 11 total hits. She struck out six batters and issued three walks.
Hennan shared the honor with Rita Hokianga of West Texas A&M.
Next up for the TexAnns (15-17, 7-5) is a difficult four-game LSC series at West Texas A&M (27-4, 8-4) with doubleheaders beginning at 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. The Lady Buffs are currently third and Tarleton fourth in the league standings.
