Erath County commissioners will hold a second public hearing on the Erath County Hazard Mitigation Plan Monday and discuss an agreement with Lipan First Responders.

According to county officials, the purpose of the hazard mitigation plan is to identify policies that can be implemented over the long-term to reduce risk and potential for future loss. A mitigation plan can form the foundation for the county's long-term strategy to reduce disaster losses and break the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction and repeated damage in some areas.

Fire Marshal Steve Cole will present commissioners with a first responder agreement with the Lipan First Responders. The agreement is an annual one for the county and local volunteers for mutual aid and resources.

Commissioners will also hear from Larry Angerhofer, an Erath County resident who lives on County Road 120, about the dust problems on the road near his property.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the Erath County Courthouse.
