The traffic light at the intersection of Baxter Avenue and Washington Street will soon be a thing of the past.
TxDOT plans to remove the light after a traffic study is complete, according to Natalie Galindo of TxDOT.
"The request has been placed for a traffic study by the city," Galindo said. "The analysis on traffic, bicyclists and pedestrians should begin sometime within the next month."
After the traffic study is conducted the light will then blink for 90 days, and will be removed this summer.
