With graduation just around the corner, Tarleton State University students gathered at the Barry B. Thompson Student Center ballrooms Wednesday to attend a spring job fair.
Several businesses were in attendance including Providence, Fastenal, CornerStone Staffing, FWT Consulting, the National Guard, FMC Technologies, Sanderson Farms and others looking to hire new employees.
"We're here because Tarleton is one of the actual job fairs we come to," said Brian Powell with FWT Consulting. "We have found that the kids from Tarleton are down to earth, hard-working individuals. They are just looking for an opportunity to get started somewhere. We've had extremely good luck with Tarleton students."
Students were required to dress in professional attire and submit resumes.
Among the students in attendance was Roosevelt Okafor, a senior at Tarleton.
"I decided to come to the job fair because I'm graduating next May and I just thought I should start exploring my opportunities and see what's available out there for me. We need opportunities to be looked at and show these employers that we're worth hiring and that we are willing to make something out of ourselves."
