In the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor Track and Field regional rankings, the Tarleton men have jumped to the No. 8 position in the South Central Region.

The Texans were on the outside looking in last week, sitting at No. 11. But after a strong showing led by Chase Rathke and the men's 4x400m Relay team earning national marks last weekend, Tarleton moved up three spots.

There are four Lone Star Conference schools in the regional poll - West Texas A&M (3), Texas A&M-Commerce (6), Texas A&M-Kingsville (7) and Tarleton (8) - with the RMAC's Adams State (1), Chadron State (2), Colorado Mines (4), Western State (5), Metro State (9) and UC-Colorado Springs (10) holding down the remaining six spots.

The Heartland Conference is also a regional member but have no teams in the top 10 polls.

Tarleton will compete at the LSC Indoor Championships March 1-2 at Texas Tech before the qualifying athletes head to the NCAA Championships on March 14-15.
