Freshman Kaylee Roach had her best night to lead the Lady Tigers to an easy victory, while the Hico boys struggled to generate offense in a loss when both teams visited Valley Mills Tuesday.

Roach had career-bests with five 3-pointers and 21 points as Hico's girls won 58-20, inching closer to securing the third playoff spot from District 12-A Division I. Hico is playoff bound with a win in either of its final two regular-season games. De Leon visits HHS Friday and Hico travels to Meridian next Tuesday.

Joining Roach in double figures was Ashley McLain with 10. Ashlyn Underwood scored seven, Sophie Morrow and Michaela Gephart each added six, Julia McDonald had four and Kelsey Warren and Shyanne Wolf both contributed two.

The Tigers dropped a defensive struggle, 36-17. They trailed 12-9 at halftime.

Justin Smith scored 10 for Hico, Cade Hitzfeld three, Ryder Needham two and Hunter Wood two.
