A vintage Robert VanKranenburg performance along with two other individual double-digit scoring nights helped Lingleville dominate Gordon 88-45 in District 17-A Division II action Tuesday.

The No. 9 Cardinals, sole leaders in the district standings, raced to a 42-20 lead by halftime, and made it a rout with a 28-9 advantage in the third quarter.

Robert VanKranenburg poured in 32 points to lead the way while Hendrick Huisman posted a career-best 15 and Tim Griffin addd 11.

"We played well. Robert was a man out there, and he had plenty of help," said Eckert. "As a coach, I'm sure glad Hendrick Huisman decided to play basketball this season, because he's been huge for us at times and is getting better every day."

Ruperto Huerta scored seven and Jayden Stoker five for LHS. Colton Carter and Bart VanKranenburg each added four, Rosendo Rodriguez and Josh Alvarado had three apiece and Colbe Stoker and Tucker Click both added two.

The Cards host Gorman Friday before their pivotal rematch with Huckabay, this time at HHS, next Tuesday. The Cards won the first battle in Lingleville, 60-58. The doubleheader with Gorman begins with girls play at 6:30 p.m.
