Tarleton State has swept the Lone Star Conference weekly basketball honors for the third time this season, and Kiara Wright has been a part of all three.

The senior and reigning Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Daktronics All-America selection is again the LSC Women's Defensive Player of the Week, while teammate Kathy Thomas was named the week's best offensive player by league officials in Richardson Monday.

Among Wright's 24 rebounds in wins over Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville were 17 defensive boards. She also grabbed two steals on the defensive end while averaging 18.5 points in the victories. For the season, the Pittsburg, Tex. native leads Tarleton at 21 points and 11.6 boards per game.

Thomas, a junior guard who transferred to Tarleton from Iowa, scored a career-best 20 points against both ASU and TAMUK. She was 13-18 from the floor and 9-12 from outside the arc in the two wins, while also collecting seven rebounds and seven assists. The Flint, Mich. native is third on the TexAnns at 11.9 points per game.

Tarleton is in first place in the LSC and visits reigning conference champ Midwestern State Wednesday. Tipoff at D.L. Ligon Coliseum in Wichita Falls is set for 5:30 p.m.
