Erin McGuire-Huffman has big plans for her future. The senior Stingerette said when she isn't dancing, she is busy with her family and friends and her youth group at the First United Methodist Church of Stephenville.
After graduation, the 17-year-old daughter of Russell Huffman and Jennifer McGuire said she plans on attending Southwestern University in Georgetown for her undergrad before going to medical school.
"I'll probably major in biology and anthropology for my undergrad at Southwestern," she said. "Then I'm going to medical school, but I can't decide what I want to study yet. This week, I want to be a cardiologist."
1. Who is your favorite teacher?
Mrs. (Stacy) Roeming, who teaches AP English, because I can go to that woman for absolutely anything, any time. I mean from a stapler to a heart-to-heart about life.
2. What advice would you give incoming freshmen?
Whatever you do, don't slack off your first year because it really does matter more than you think.
3. Who is your biggest influence?
Probably my mom because she drives me to do a lot of things I wouldn't otherwise do and I really appreciate that.
4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Honestly, I'll still be in school I think. I'm a pretty big fan of Texas, so I'll probably still be in state somewhere, probably not at Southwestern though.
5. If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Probably all the unnecessary hatefulness in the world. I think people could be happier and less stressed if there was less hatefulness taking up our time and energy.
