Picture this: After a long, hard day at school, the office or shuffling kids around, you don't have to head home and face making dinner. Instead, all you have to do is present a ticket and take home a piping hot bowl of potato soup, salad and dessert.
Sound too good to be true?
Well, it's not.
Stephenville Museum board members are sponsoring a soup-to-go fundraiser from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at the museum's school house. Tickets can be purchased for $7 at the museum, Home Place at Ace, KWBY Radio or from any board member by Jan. 23.
The event will benefit the Oxford House Preservation Project.
"We wanted to find a fundraiser that is a little bit different and so we came up with this," said board member Dianne Wilson.
Patrons will be routed from Washington Street onto Shapard Street, which runs between the Oxford House and Star Storage, proceed through the back gate into the museum and around the north side of Center Grove School, where they will be met by ticket takers who will deliver meals to their vehicles.
The soup will be placed in styrofoam take-out bowls.
