After a months-long search, the Erath County United Way has named a new executive administrator. And they didn't have to look far to find her.

Long-time board member Lisa Scroggins was recently tapped to lead the organization following the departure of Aileen Truax. Scroggins served as interim administrator while the board searched for a replacement.

"I am passionate about the United Way and this community," Scroggins said. "This is a dream job for me and I am thrilled to have this opportunity."

Scroggins has served on the ECUW board for 20 years with only one current board member serving longer.

"The only person who has been on the board longer than me is Janette Goodman," she said with a laugh.

Scroggins said her immediate goals are to prepare for ECUW's annual campaign celebration on Jan. 23 and sending out the 2014 agency funding applications.

"I am really proud to have this position and look forward to helping those in Erath County who need it most," Scroggins said.
