Shelby Templeton scored five straight points to put Dublin ahead for good late in the third quarter Tuesday night, as the Lady Lions edged Coleman 56-47 in a back-and-forth battle at Roy and Lynn Neff Gym.

Templeton scored all eight of her points in the second half. She hit a 3-pointer for a 37-34 third-quarter lead, added a deuce moments later, and buried a key 3-pointer in the fourth for a 48-41 advantage.

The Templeton 3-ball for the lead snapped the fifth and final tie of the third quarter after Dublin rallied from a narrow first-half deficit.

Coleman used an 8-2 push to grab a five-point lead in the second quarter, but Dublin answered with six straight for a 23-22 lead at the break. The Lady Lions made it 10 straight when they scored initial four points of the second half.

But Coleman responded with five straight to tie the contest at 27-27, and it was tied again at 28, 30, 32 and 34 before Templeton's long ball.

Sydney Beck scored 14 points to lead Dublin while Faith Faulkner netted nine. London Jones joined Templeton with eight points, Amber James scored six, Ajia Muro four, Carley Belew three, Mica Muro two and Carey Belew two.

The Lady Lions return to action Thursday when they open the three-day Dublin Athletic Booster Club Tournament. They open with Zephyr at 6 p.m. Thursday. A win pushes them to a 6 p.m. Friday semifinal game, while a Thursday evening loss would mean a trip to the consolation bracket and a game at 9 a.m. Friday. The second-round game will be against Early or Stephenville JV Gold.
