A man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old child will spend the next 40 years in prison.
Marvin Lee Wysong Jr., 28, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child Tuesday in the 266th Judicial District Court. He was represented by attorney Andrew Ottaway. The offense was a first-degree felony because of the victim's age, according to District Attorney Alan Nash. If Wysong had gone to trial, he faced 5 years to life in prison. “We’re very happy law enforcement could bring us a case so compelling that the defendant could not deny guilt," Nash said. "Since the defendant pleaded guilty we don’t have to put the young victim in a position to face the man who victimized her or force her to re-tell a story of a horrifying moment of her life. It’s good that the victim can try and move on from this moment of her life and that other children are protected from this man for a long time.”
