The stage has been set for this year's Dancing For the Stars and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erath County has announced the next slate of local celebrities slipping into their boogie shoes.
"We are ready to Rumba!" said Committee Chair Treva Wygle. "We have a great group of dancers again this year. It's going to be a blast!"
This year's lineup includes Traci and Jason Niedziela, Jenny and Clayton Iley, Diane and Jose Rodriguez, Heather and Scott Osman and Tiffany and John Mow.
One couple is still needed to fill in for a couple who had to back out.
"We are working to get that spot filled," Wygle said.
But that's not slowing down the process. Promotional photos have already been taken and couples are preparing to begin rehearsals in July. For the second year in a row, local dance instructor Sherrie Evans will teach the couples their moves.
The music for each of the dances has also been selected, but will remain secret until showtime.
"I think it's going to be a lot of fun just like last year," Evans said. "We have changed things up a little bit and this year we have added an opening number where all the couples will dance together."
The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Tarleton Student Center Ballrooms.
Tickets are on sale now, and only 300 will be up for grabs. Last year's inaugural event was a sell-out and event planners said they expect the same this year.
Tickets are $100 each and includes dinner and complimentary beverages. Corporate sponsorships are also available by contacting any of the participating dancers or the BBBS office at 918-7295.
