With a 40 percent chance of rain in the forecast for Saturday, Stephenville ISD officials are planning for a possible change of venue in the case of inclement weather.

Stephenville High School is set to hold its graduation ceremony at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tarleton's Memorial Stadium. The ceremony will be moved to Wisdom Gym in the event of rain.

"School administrators will monitor the situation and make a decision by 6 p.m. Saturday as to whether it will be necessary to move the graduation ceremony inside," said Superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd. "If the weather dictates such a move, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the TSU Wisdom Gym and begin at 8 p.m. Saturday."

Graduating seniors have each been issued 12 tickets. Due to indoor fire code capacity issues, if the ceremony is moved indoors, attendees will need to present a ticket at the door in order to attend. If a senior needs more than 12 tickets for their family and friends, they will have to ask another senior to provide them with any of their unused tickets.

Once the weather decision is made at 6 p.m. Saturday, SHS Principal Travis Stilwell will send out a recorded message to all seniors and their parents/guardians letting them know about the location. The decision will also be posted on the SISD website, the Empire-Tribune website at yourstephenvilletx.com and be broadcast on KSTV radio.
