Miguel Ramirez added a Lone Star Conference co-pitcher of the week award to his impressive senior season Tuesday, according to a release from the LSC office in Richardson.
Ramirez pitched a seven-inning complete game and allowed just a run on two hits to lead Tarleton State to a 3-1 victory over Abilene Christian at Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex Saturday. After starting the game by hitting a batter with a pitch, Ramirez retired 14 straight. ACU's first hit didn't come until the sixth inning.
Ramirez is 7-1 with a 1.99 earned run average on the season, helping Tarleton to first place in the LSC. The Texans lead three teams by three games and have just four contests remaining, all at home this weekend against Cameron.
Tarleton baseball head coach Bryan Conger announced a change to the schedule of the series on Monday. Doubleheaders will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and no game will be played on Friday, as originally scheduled. Tarleton is 14-2 at home.
