The Dublin Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual candidate forum at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Dublin Junior High auditorium.
Chamber Director Luanne Schexnider has invited all candidates involved in both the Dublin City Council and the Dublin ISD elections.
"No matter if they have an opponent or not, I invited them all to come and participate," she said. "I even invited those members of the council and school board who are not running this year."
Schexnider said she anticipated a good turnout for the annual event, which features candidates answering questions posed by the community. Many of the candidates have made plans to be there. Incoming mayoral candidate David Leatherwood said despite not having an opponent he will be present at the forum to answer any questions residents had for him.
"Everyone in the community is welcome to join us," Schexnider said. "We welcome everyone who has questions for the candidates to come and participate."
She said the forum was all about informing the community of the candidates and the issues.
"We will welcome everyone, introduce all the candidates and then open the floor for citizens to ask questions," Schexnider said. "This event is all about information and showing support for the community. And I feel like that goes both ways, both from the citizens and the candidates."
