The Tarleton State University choirs and band programs will present a joint holiday concert in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. General admission tickets are $5 or free with a valid Tarleton ID.
Santa Claus will be in attendance and will be taking pictures free of charge from 6 to 7:20 that same evening in the Fine Arts Center Theater. Each picture will be stored on a secure website and visitors will be allowed to download their high resolution image for printing at any photo processing lab or from your home printer.
Kicking off the holiday celebration will be the Tarleton Wind Ensemble with an arrangement of Paul McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime. Senior music education major Natalie Rose will serve as guest conductor for a Leroy Anderson favorite, Christmas Festival. The Chamber Choir and Select Women’s Ensemble will perform works by Monteverdi, Ramirez, and Berger as well as holiday favorites.
Closing out the concert, the Combined Choirs and Wind Ensemble will lead the audience in a sing-along of holiday tunes.
This year, along with Dr. Lisette Dottavio, the band and choral programs are collecting donations for the Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center. The center supports children who are in a traumatizing situation in their home. Go to www.cac2helpkids.com for more information.
Donations to the Paluxy River CAC will be collected at the door. Suggested donations include monetary donations of any amount, board games, toys and stuffed animals.
Individuals can also donate by contacting Dr. Anthony Pursell, director of bands, at 968-9242 or email email@example.com.
