Let Freedom Ring is an annual fundraiser for Erath County Republicans. This year's guest speaker will be Janine Turner, actress, author and talk show host. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, with a reception starting at 5. The Tarleton State University's Student Center will be the location with valet parking available.

Turner is a native of Fort Worth and comes from a long line of Texans, including Anson Jones, the last President of the Republic of Texas. Her father is from Athens, Texas, and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Janine is a highly acclaimed public speaker, where she spoke at the Republican National Convention in Florida. Many people remember Janine as an Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actress playing Maggie O’Connell in the TV show, Northern Exposure, and for her starring roles in Friday Night Lights, Strong Medicine, and films such as Cliffhanger and Leave it Beaver.

Turner's most recent projects include the Janine Turner Radio Show broadcast Saturday nights from 9 p.m.-11 p.m. Central on DFW’s KLIF 570 AM and the foundation she created and co-chairs with Cathy Gillespie, "Constituting America." She has appeared on numerous television news shows including: Fox and Friends, Hannity, Glenn Beck, Huckabee, CNN's Larry King Live, and weekly appearances on The O’Reilly Factor.
