The race for commissioner of precinct 1 is not over.
Incumbent Jim Pack will face off against challenger Dee Stephens on July 31 after neither candidate was able to get more than 50% of the vote Tuesday.
Stephens received 46% and Pack received 41%, while Bret Greenway received 8% and Tom Griffith received 5%.
"I am relieved," Stephens said. "I want to thank everyone who came out and supported me and I hope they do it again in July."
Pack is seeking his second term.
"I want to congratulate all of my opponents and I look forward to another race in July," Pack said Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Joe Brown, pct. 3, was elected to his second term beating challenger Dale Dove with 58% of the vote.
"I feel good," Brown said Tuesday. "I have started quite a few projects and I'm looking forward to finishing them. I've got a great crew and we are going to continue making precinct 3 the best we can."
