There will be a battle of the buzz in this weekend's 4A Region I quarterfinal baseball series as the Yellow Jackets - two words - of Stephenville face off with the Yellowjackets - one word - of Cleburne.

Cleburne won the District 7-4A championship then needed just two games to advance through the opening two rounds of the state playoffs, defeating Waco High 8-1 in bi-district and Fort Worth Arlington Heights 7-2 when their area-round series - like Stephenville's - was shortened to one game due to rain.

Stephenville swept a doubleheader to come back after dropping Game 1 of a bi-district series against Mansfield Summit, then shutout Aledo 5-0 in the area round behind senior ace Trent Morrison's 13-strikeout three-hitter Saturday.

The battle of the Jackets begins at 7 p.m. Thursday in Cleburne, with Game 2 at 7 p.m. Friday in Stephenville. Game 3, if needed, is noon Saturday at Veterans Stadium in Waco.

The winner of the series meets Wichita Falls Rider or Canyon Randall in next week's regional semifinals.
