The crowd has cleared, the musicians have gone home and the Larry Joe Taylor crew is left to reflect on this year's Texas music festival held April 24-28 at Melody Mountain Ranch.

One of things they are most proud of is the decision to sell festival programs at the gate with the intention of donating proceeds from the sale to the American Cancer Society.

"We raised $10,000 for ACS," Sherry Taylor said Tuesday. "We are thrilled."

Taylor said this was the first year to sell programs at the gate.

"We have never done that before. We have always mailed them out which is expensive," she said. "We have some friends with ACS and told them if they sold the programs we would donate the proceeds. It's something we will absolutely do again next year."

In addition, the crew donated $4,500 to the Cross Timbers Emergency Response Team for their service and $1,500 to Assembly of God for coordinating the shuttle service.

Taylor said plans for next year's festival are already in the works.

"We are trying to decide on the date," she said.
