Tarleton's Jeremiah Wilson was named the 2009 Tarleton Texan Tip-off Classic Most Valuable Player after leading the Texans to a pair of wins at Wisdom Gym over the weekend.
Wilson, a senior forward out of Chicago, scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down six rebounds in Tarleton's 54-43 win over Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday.† Along with his eight points in Friday's win over Texas A&M International, Wilson averaged 12.0 points and seven rebounds per contest and added a blocked shot and two steals.
Also earning all-tournament honors over the weekend was teammate Corin Henry, a junior guard from Randallstown, Md.† Henry scored 18 points in Friday's 68-50 win over TAMIU and dished out six assists as well.† In Saturday's contest, Henry had seven rebounds and three assists.† He had five steals total in the two games.
Joining Wilson and Henry on the all-tournament team were Angelo State's LaMarshall Corbett, SOSU's Mychal Horn, and TAMIU's St. Paul Latham.†
