The Stephenville ISD Board of Trustees will meet Monday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administration Building to discuss a slew of items including the Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability report.
TEA accountability reports are complied by the state Texas annually to rate public schools and districts on the academic performance of their students. On Friday, the high school campus received a banner naming the campus as one of three “Recognized” campuses in the district. Michelle McMichael will present the official report to the board during the meeting.
Board members will also discuss the 2009/10 proposed tax rate and salary schedule. Members met Friday to get a preliminary look at the budget and how the tax rate would affect the district down the line.
Other topics on the agenda include a report from Superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd on an Organizational Health Project for 2009/10; the bad weather plan for this academic year; an update on the strategic planning report and information for a called board meeting on Aug. 31.
Board members will also get another look at student handbooks for elementary and secondary students.
Regular board meetings could see a change in starting times. Board members will consider changing the regular start time of their meeting to an earlier time, beginning with the September meeting.
At the end of the meeting, board members will go into closed session to discuss personnel matters and to consult with the board’s attorney. They will reconvene in open session to take any action needed on the closed session topics.
