ico resident Raul Chavez was transported by ambulance to Harris Methodist Erath County Hospital following a collision that occurred around 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of E. South Loop.
Chavez was driving a loaner vehicle belonging to Campbell’s Auto Body when apparent confusion along the loop led to the accident.
The vehicle Chavez was driving was rear-ended by Stephenville resident Allison Rinehart, according to authorities.
Chavez was taken by ambulance to the emergency room complaining of neck pain.
Rinehart received no injuries although her vehicle, a late model Pontiac, received the brunt of the damage.
When asked about the accident, Stephenville Officer Curtis Dees said, “it is not cut and dry.”
Dees said a couple of witnesses claimed that someone from Parham’s Garage had stepped into the roadway to stop traffic so that a vehicle could be removed from the repair shop’s lot.
Rinehart told authorities that things were a bit chaotic at the time of the accident and she was confident that there was no way, given the situation and confusion on the roadway, that she could have avoided the collision.
