Let Freedom Ring!
That is the theme of a special patriotic celebration dinner show Stephenville High School choirs will present in honor of the Armed Forces on Nov. 12.
Dinner will be catered by The Lunch Box at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment will begin at 6:45 p.m. and will include featured student performers. Tickets are $12, available from choir students or SHS choir director, John Tucker, at 254-552-6467.
A slide show of veterans and families of the community will also be a highlight during the dinner event. Those who would like a veteran or current member of the Armed Forces included in the production may send a photo, with the name of the individual to be recognized, by email (JPEG or TIF format) to firstname.lastname@example.org or the photo may be left at the high school office.
The Veterans' Day program will continue, at no charge, in the SHS auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Selected music will celebrate the greatness of our country. Tucker said the choirs are looking forward to their presentation.
“The students have been working since the beginning of school,” Tucker said. “It has certainly been a labor of love for the community's celebration.”
The deadline for dinner tickets is Wednesday. Proceeds from the event will be used for the senior choir scholarship and replacement of dated audio equipment.
