Barron - Spoon

Rosie and Gabriel Hernandez of Weatherford announce the engagement of their daughter, Candeiaria Mere Barron of Stephenville, to Elvis Aaron Spoon of Stephenville. Aaron is the son of Rhonda and Billy Spoon of Stephenville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Agnes A. Barron and Luis Lopez of Weatherford. She is a graduate of Weatherford College with an Associate's degree and is currently a server at Mi Familia.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Maudie Dolderry of Stephenville. He is a graduate of Stephenville High School and is currently employed at Ballard's Stained Concrete Floors.

A wedding is planned for May 18, 2008, at Clark Gardens in Ft. Worth.

Clayton - Whitefield

Jan and Del Clayton of Del Rio announce the engagement of their daughter, Crystal Clayton of Lubbock, to Matthew Whitefield of Lubbock. Matthew is the son of Linda and Ronnie Whitefield of Stephenville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Julius Sandowsky of Houston. She graduated from Angelo State in 2006 with a degree in Animal Science and is currently working on a master's in Equine Science and Education from Texas Tech University.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Lorene and the late Robert Bennett of Van Alstyne. He graduated from Tarleton State University with a bachelor's in Agriculture Education in 2004 and is currently employed by Texas Tech University.

A wedding is planned at Moon River Ranch near Waco.

Lasater - Murphy

Buddie and Janet Lasater of Stephenville announce the engagement of their daughter, Torey Lynn Lasater of Stephenville, to Joshua Robert Murphy of Pomfret, Md. Joshua is the son of Robert and Lisa Murphy of Pomfret, Md.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Stephenville High School. She is currently a Sergeant in the United States Army, serving as an Aviation Operations Specialist, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, Ky.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Robert and Florence Murphy of Camillus, N.Y.; Rick and Diane Preston of Redding, Conn.; and Frank Scudiere of Patterson, N.Y. He graduated in 2003, and is currently a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps serving as an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 at Cherry Point, N.C.

A wedding is planned for Nov. 10, 2007, at Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney.Thompson


O'Farrell “Pal” and Myrna Thompson celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at Pecan Plantation Country Club and Community Center with family on Sept. 7 through Sept. 9.

Pal retired in 2000 after 37 years of pipeline welding and supervision, and in 1995 he founded PAL-CON, Ltd. He spends his time on the Thompson Cattle Shack Ranches.

Myrna is a licensed beautician, nurse, and real estate agent; and took over PAL-CON, Ltd., in 2000 when Pal retired.

The couple have three children Tamela Mund and husband, Dr. Arthur Mund, of Tolar; Candiss Thompson of Bluff Dale; and Randy Thompson and wife, Renee, of Stephenville. They also have eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.


Maxfield - Minish

Mintara Shay Minish of Joshua and Michael Allen Maxfield of Godley were united in marriage on Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at Whispering Creek Ranch in Granbury.

The bride was given away by her father, Robert Minish.

The bride is the daughter of Terry Casillas of Joshua and Robert Minish of Muenster. Mintara is the granddaughter of Mary Lou Minish of Watauga. She is a graduate of Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Studies.

The groom is the son of Amy Crider of Tyler and Jeff and Susan Maxfield of Van. Michael is the grandson of Butch and Mary Lou Maxfield of Van. He is currently interning with the USDA Farm Service Agency in Stephenville. Upon completion of this internship, he will receive his Bachelor's of Science in Agricultural Services and Development.

The Maid of Honor was Tessa LaRae Minish. Bridal attendants were Marion Dickert, Larey Ruffino, Shelly Kocurek, Bobbi Green, Mary Hobbs, Leslee Snyder, Megan Monte Longo, and Mariah Maxfield. And the flower girl was Hattie Coty.

Allen Irvin served as the groom's best man. The groomsmen were Taylor Latherman, Austin Giles, Matthew Dalme, Justin Henderson, Colby Waldrop, John McKee, Josh Jeter, and Kyle Capel. The ringbearer was Jake Chapel.

Ushers were Logan Synatzske, Tres Lowry, Garret Crider, Clint Casillas, and Keith Turner.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at Whispering Creek Ranch in Granbury.

Before the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was served at Chap ‘n Block BBQ in Granbury hosted by Jeff and Susan Maxfield.

Following the honeymoon to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple will reside in Stephenville.
