Blooming Grove The Hico Tigers, led by Westin Williams, put up 35 points on Blooming Grove Friday night for their third consecutive win, beating the Lions by the final of 35-11.

Hico was held in check by the Lions until the third quarter, when they took the ball 98 yards for a touchdown after the defense stopped Blooming Grove at the two yard line.

"With seven minutes left to go in the third our defense made a great goal line stand to stop them from scoring," said Head Coach Wade Williams. "We were able to drive it down the field for the touchdown and that swung the momentum for us."

Hico took the lead and never looked back.

Westin Williams was the main factor for the Tiger offense, completing nine of 19 pass attempts for 237 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown.

"He had a great night," said Coach Williams. "They were bringing a lot of pressure and he did a good job of reading the defense."

However, Williams didn't do it by himself. Andrew Wise pulled in three of those passes and for 125 yards and two of Williams' three TDs.

The Tigers' rushing attack was helped out by Jordan Turner, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown, as well as the offensive line that created the running lanes. The Tiger rushing attack racked up 220 total yards.

"We worried about the size of our offensive line," said Coach Williams. "At first they were dominating us. When they started getting tired, we pulled our guards which allowed us to run the ball outside."

The defense was led by Wise and Cade Sklar with 10 tackles each. The Tigers forced a fumble, recovered two, and recorded two interceptions, including one by Sklar.

Hico will travel to Godley next week. Kickoff is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m.
