TEMPLE — Funeral services for Nita Parks Lewellen, 86, will be at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple at 10 a.m. on Jan. 11, 2007, with burial to follow in the Bellwood Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Lewellen was born in Erath County to Jessie Lee Mulloy and Elmer Jackson Parks on Sept. 1, 1920, in the Bunyan Community. She attended early grades there and finished middle and high school in Stephenville. She graduated from John Tarleton Agricultural College (now Tarleton State University). She married Ted Lewellen in 1943 at Pocatello Air Force Base in Idaho. After World War II, in 1947, the couple moved to Temple. She was a retired federal employee with the Soil Conservation Service with 28 years of service.
