Nathan went home to be with Jesus on July 31, 2022, in Bedford, Texas. He passed peacefully surrounded by family and a fantastic team of nurses and doctors.
Nathan was born June 25, 1977, in Whitney, Texas, to Kay Campbell and Eldon Black. Nathan graduated from DeLeon High School in 1996.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ed and Kay Black of Hico, Texas, and his maternal grandparents, George and Frances Campbell of Brilliant, Ohio.
Nathan loved everything about Stephenville. His favorite time of the year was always football season. The family could always count on a Saturday phone call about how Stephenville did the night before and who they would be up against the following week. Nathan also loved his Dallas Cowboys. Playoff season was exciting to him. He knew his stuff.
He loved working for Bruner Motors. He was a loyal employee for many years.
He loved family and, more importantly, family gatherings. Nathan loved to joke, and he had the most mischievous grin and laugh. Nathan loved animals and wanted to know how everyone’s pets were doing. He never left a leaf unturned. He had the kindest heart.
Nathan is survived by his mother, Kay Campbell, of Gause, Texas; his father, Eldon Black, of Hamilton, Texas; his brother Richard Freeland (Kim) of Walnut Springs, Texas; his sister, Lori Lucas (Rick), of Gause, Texas; his sister Debbie Rasberry (Jay) of Gause, Texas; his brother EJ Black (Julie) of Hamilton, Texas; his sister Bridget Black of Dallas, Texas; his sister Loni Black of Hamilton, Texas; fiance, Amanda Miller, of Stephenville, Texas. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends, and co-workers.
The celebration of Life will be on September 10, 2022, at 10 am at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Stephenville, Texas. A private burial will be at the Black cemetery in Hico, Texas, after a family lunch at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Texas Health HEB and Texas Health Stephenville for your tireless dedication to Nathan.
