Tarleton State has been tabbed the No. 10 team in the nation in the final American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II football poll released Monday.

The ranking matches the highest the Texans have been in the final poll since joining Division II in 1994. They were No. 10 in 2001, the only other season they reached the second round of the national playoffs.

The Texans are the highest ranked team from the Lone Star Conference, followed by No. 13 Abilene Christian, No. 14 Midwestern State and No. 16 Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Three other Super Region 4 teams made the final poll. National champion Northwest Missouri State is No. 1, Central Washington is No. 3 and Washburn is No. 25.
