NEW ORLEANS, LA. - The Tarleton TexAnn cross country has made its debut in the South Central Region poll at No. 6 while the Texan cross country team remained No. 8 in the region.

The TexAnns, who took second place at the Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships last weekend, are making their first appearance in the poll this season behind No. 1 Missouri Southern.

Pittsburg State, Abilene Christian, Southwest Baptist and Central Missouri round out the top five while listed behind the TexAnns is Dallas Baptist, West Texas A&M, Fort Hays State and Incarnate Word.

The Texans have been a mainstay at No. 8 the last few weeks. Tarleton finished third Saturday at the conference championships.

Abilene Christian remains on top of the poll while Missouri Southern, Southwest Baptist, Pittsburg State, Emporia State, East Central and Central Missouri are ranked ahead of Tarleton. Texas A&M-Commerce and Dallas Baptist complete the poll.

Both the TexAnns and the Texans have qualified for the regional meet that will be held at the Missouri Southern Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo. on Saturday, Nov. 3.
