Another busy weekend lies ahead for the Stephenville varsity volleyball team.

After defeating Graham Tuesday in three straight games, the Honeybees look to continue their winning ways in the Fraulein Volleyfest in New Braunfels Friday and Saturday.

Stephenville (2-3) joins a field of 36 teams for the Beesí second tournament of the season. They were eliminated with three straight losses in the prestigious Duncanville Tournament of Champions last weekend. Tourney play concludes for SHS next week with the CenturyTel Raginí Rattler Tournament in San Marcos. District play is also on the horizon, beginning Sep. 4 against Aledo.

The first Volleyfest match for Stephenville will be served up at 9 a.m. Friday against Warren. A second match Friday afternoon is guaranteed, with a third outing very likely.

Coach Fran Metzger and the Honeybees will play either Westlake or Harker Heights in the second round at 1 p.m., with the opponent to be determined by round one results. If SHS is still alive in the bracket Saturday, their first match will fall sometime between 9 a.m. and noon.
