Three Stephenville Stingrays qualified to compete in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Swimming Championship.
Stetson Carlile had the best finish of the three, placing ninth in the 13-14 boys 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1 minute, 11.11 seconds.
Carlile may have had the highest finish, but it was Jubilee Gaither who qualified in the most events. Gaither, who competes in the 15-17 girls division, had a strong outing at state, placing 16h in the 50-yard butterfly in 31.96 seconds. She was 20th in the 100-yard individual medley in 1:17.99 and 25th in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:33.79.
Aaron Howard-Salame’ also represented the Stingrays. Also a multi-event qualifier, Howard-Salame’ finished 60th in the 50-yard breaststroke in 44.22 seconds and 104th in the 50-yard freestyle in 34.89. Howard-Salame’ competes in the 15-17 boys class.
