Tarleton State senior Avery Patterson has been selected to compete in the 2008 NABC/NCAA Division II All-Star Game.

Patterson is the first Tarleton player ever selected to the game, which is being played for just the third time. It is hosted by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. The game will be Friday at the Hall of Fame gym.

Patterson averaged 15.1 points per game for the South Central Regional Finalist Texans. He transferred to Tarleton from Division I St. Johnís for his senior year.

The Texan will suit up for the West team, which is coached by Bill Treseler of San Francisco State University.
