A tie. Not exactly the ending Stephenville hoped for.

The Honeybees ended the 2008 regular season with a 0-0 battle against Brownwood on Tuesday.

“I honestly don’t know how we ended up tied,” said Stephenville coach Casey Weil. “We did everything right except score. We must have outshot them something like 50-1. We just couldn’t get it in the net.”

The Honeybees dominated the time of possession and kept pressure on the Brownwood goal keeper, but nothing got through.

Still, Weil said the Bees’ flow of play in the first half was perhaps the best it has been all season.

“We would really like to enter the playoffs on a win, but we’re in good shape,” Weil said.

The Honeybees will likely begin playoff action in Burleson on the Friday during Spring Break (March 21).
