Hico outgunned De Leon, 61-26, in an area girls basketball rivalry at Hico High School Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers, now 3-0, came out on fire, and De Leon had no answer.

Cassi Stegall, who scored 26 points in each Hico’s first two wins, poured in 15 of her game-high 22 in the opening quarter Tuesday.  She is now averaging 24.7 points per contest.

Hico rolled to leads of 25-4 at the end of one and 37-14 heading into the break.

Behind Stegall, Cara Finstad scored 16 for the Lady Tigers, running her average after three games to 16.3.  Tristan Till chipped in with eight, Claudia Zuniga had five, Cristal Zuniga tallied three and Janna Marshall added two.

De Leon, which fell to 1-1, was led by Latisha Abbey, who scored six points in her first action of the season.  Kayla Atchley and Micah Cisneroz each tacked on five.

Hico is hosting both varsity and JV tournaments beginning tonight when the Lady Tigers return to the court for a 6 p.m. meeting with Gorman.
