Tarleton men’s basketball head coach Lonn Reisman has announced the addition of Ted Washington to the 2007-08 recruiting class.

Washington, a 6-2, 185-pound Arlington Bowie graduate, will join the Texans as a freshman in the fall.

“We are excited to add Ted to our program,” said Tarleton associate head coach Chris Reisman.

“We feel he has the potential to become a very good player in the Lone Star Conference. Our staff has been very impressed with Ted’s demeanor along with his commitment to succeed well academically and improve as a basketball player.

“Ted was very well coached at Arlington Bowie by Allen Gratts and comes from one of the tougher districts (8-5A) in the state that includes high school powers Duncanville, Desoto and Cedar Hill,” Reisman said.

Washington averaged 10.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game last season as a senior. He was a second-team all-district selection and received the 3-D Award for determination, dedication and desire. He is also a member of the National Honor Society.

“We feel that if Ted comes in here dedicated and improves his strength and a few areas of his overall game, he will be something to watch at Tarleton for the next four years,” Reisman said.
