DUNCAN, Okla. — The No. 4 Tarleton State women's golf team has continued its dominance this week, winning its fourth straight - and final - tournament of the fall semester.
Sharon Lau fired a 67 Tuesday and Tarleton won the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Invitational by 16 strokes.
Tarleton led by four strokes on Monday with an opening-round 304, then shot a 288 Tuesday to run away from the competition with a total of 592.
Lau, who shot an 81 on Monday, bettered her second day total by 14 strokes to finish at 148, good for fifth place individually.
Carla Cooper (74-72=146) was third followed by Katy Ward (73-74=147) in fourth. Jacqueline Lau (79-75=154) placed 15th and Melanie Tham (78-78=156) tied for 16th.
Sarah Fulfer (82-77=159) competed as an individual medalist, and tied for 34th.
Northeastern State 608) was second in the team standings, followed in the top 10 by Central Oklahoma (620), Nebraska-Omaha (622), Redlands Community College (625), Midwestern State (628), Incarnate Word (632), West Texas A&M (635), Angelo State (638) and Texas A&M-Commerce (639).
The TexAnns, who are ranked No. 3 in the nation by Golfstat.com, have won 30 times and placed in the top five 41 times in their last 43 events. That includes wins in 10 of 12 regular-season tournaments dating back to last season.
