Tarleton State is back in the top 10.

The Texans moved up five spots to No. 6 in this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II top 25 poll, released Tuesday.

Tarleton (3-0), moved up after defeating Arlington Baptist College 108-30, Texas-Permian Basin 81-66 and Newman 83-54. The Texans hosted Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College Tuesday night (see related story).

Defending national champ Cal Poly-Pomona remains No. 1 in the poll, followed in the top five by Findlay, Bellarmine, Grand Valley State and Winona State.

No. 10 Central Oklahoma is the only other Lone Star Conference team in the poll, as Midwestern State dropped out after beginning the season at No. 20.

Other teams from the South Central Region include No. 14 Central Missouri and No. 18 Fort Hays State.
