Special to the E-T
Tarleton Sports Information
Tarleton State head women’s basketball coach Ronnie Hearne announced the signing of Lindsey Mann to a national letter-of-intent.
Mann, a point guard from North Crowley High School, will attend Tarleton beginning the fall of 2011.
“Lindsey was number one on our 2011 recruiting list,” Hearne said. “With Sonya Sundberg graduating this year, it was important to sign a quality guard. Lindsey has outstanding ball handling skills and is a long-range 3-point shooter. She has a passion for the game, and is an excellent student. We are excited about signing her during the early signing period.”
Last season as a junior, Mann was named first-team all-district and academic all-district. She averaged 3.0 assists per game and shot 82 percent from the charity stripe and 37 percent from the 3-point line. She led her team to a 27-7 record and scored 27 points in a playoff game against Lubbock Coronado.
As a sophomore, Mann was named second-team all-district and academic all-district.
Mann was selected this week as a "player to watch" this season by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
