It didnít end the way they wanted, but the Hico Tigers made school history none the less.

The Tigers qualified for the Class 2A baseball playoffs for the first time since establishing the program in 1999.

After a third-place finish in District 11-2A, Hico was swept by District 12 runner-up Clifton two games to none in a best of three 2A Region II bi-district series in Glen Rose Friday and Saturday.

The Tigers dropped the opener 9-4, as Roy Halliburton became the first Hico pitcher to start a postseason game and Cade Clemens hit the schoolís first playoff homerun.

Clifton dominatedgame two, 11-2.

Clifton advances to face Holliday in the area round.
