RICHARDSON - Tarleton TexAnn softball player Brooke Saulters has been named the Lone Star Conference South Division Pitcher of the Week for efforts on the diamond last week.

Saulters, a senior from Waco, led the TexAnns last week with three wins in the circle as Tarleton swept a doubleheader from No. 9 St. Mary’s and a three-game series against Eastern New Mexico to go 5-0. Saulters pitched 21.0 innings in three complete games, allowing just five runs (four earned) and striking out 15 batters. Opponents hit just .190 off the senior as she recorded one win against St. Mary’s and two against ENMU.

She had a complete game shutout against the Zias on Friday. Saulters struck out seven Lady Rattler batters and eight total Zias on both days.The pitcher is the first TexAnn to receive a Player of the Week award this season.

Tarleton was scheduled to play a doubleheader with St. Edward's Tuesday, but the weather has cancelled the contests. The TexAnns will resume action Friday, March 21 with a doubleheader at No. 9 St. Mary's.
