Stephenville was strong in all three relays, took two places each in two individual running events and again scored big in the throwing events to finish in fourth place with 100 points in the Bearcat Relays in Aledo Friday.
The Yellow Jackets went with the same lineup for the second straight week in the 4x100m and won the event in 42.87 seconds. Jordan Jones again ran the opening leg, followed by Aiavion Edwards and Jeck White with Preston Brown in the anchor position.
Stephenville head coach Kevin Wilson shuffled the lineup in the other two relays. Cash Cashell led off the 4x200m, followed by Holton Westbrook and Edwards with D.J. Taylor running the final leg. They finished second in 1 minute, 32.28 seconds.
The 4x400m team of first-leg Brown, Michael Ruiz, Jones and anchor-leg White placed third in 3:34.06.
The Jackets had two runners place in both the 100m and 400m.
Jordan Jones was third in the 100m in 11.29 seconds, followed by Edwards in sixth with a time of 11.42.
In the 400m, White was second in 52.23 ticks, while Ruiz was fifth in 53.93.
Brown placed second in the 200m in 22.70, while Charles Cain was third in the 300m hurdles in 42.49.
Dominant discus thrower Nic Perez missed the meet because he competed in the Texas High School Powerlifting Association state championship in Abilene last weekend, but that didn't stop Stephenville from scoring 17 points in the throwing events.
Padyn Giebler continued his strong season in the discus, placing second with a best heave of 137 feet, five inches. D.J. Taylor was second in the shot put at 47-1.5, followed by Kody Josserand in sixth at 42-0.5.
Brown scored the Jackets' remaining field-event points, finishing fourth in the long jump at 20-6.5.
Stephenville returns to action in the Owl Relays in Joshua on Thursday.
