Kendra Cannon had a career night at the plate, going 3-3 with a pair of extra base hits that included an inside-the-park home run as Dublin knocked off Glen Rose, 9-2, in non-district softball action at DHS Tuesday night.

After two scoreless innings, the Lady Lions' bats came to life with two runs in the third, one in the fourth a big five-spot in the fifth and a final tally in the sixth.

Cannon finished with a single and a double in addition to her dinger, and tallied 3 RBI.  She was the only Dublin hitter to tally more than one hit.

"Kendra had a career night," said Dublin head coach Billy Young.  "It's always a good thing when you can get that kind of production from your 7-hole hitter."

Cayla Beck scored three runs for the Lady Lions in her return from a bruised hand she suffered in tournament play at Eastland last weekend. Beck also recorded one of Dublin's three stolen bases, giving her nine for the year after she was a perfect 32-32 in steal attempts last season.

Winning pitcher MeKyla Leatherwood improved to 4-2 on the season, allowing just one earned run as she scattered six hits and two walks while striking out nine of the 32 batters she faced.

Dublin returns to action today in the Possum Kingdom tournament.  First up in pool play for the Lady Lions is Clyde, followed by Wichita Falls Hirschi.
