Henderson Junior High shut out a pair of Joshua teams in eighth grade football action last week, outscoring the Owls by a combined tally of 58-0.

The 8th Jackets were led by Jarrett Stidham's three touchdown runs and two conversion passes. He also had an interception as HJH won 36-0.

Stidham scored on runs of 53, 47 and 53 yards and tossed both 2-point conversions to Brock Morrison.

Josh Gillespie had a 35-yard TD run and also recovered a Joshua fumble on defense.

Erik Arellana scored on a 1-yard plunge in the fourth.

Coaches listed Ben Martin, Gunner Reed, Edgar Tobias, Westyn Grimes, Stetson Carlile and Cameron Reynolds as offensive standouts and Jack Rhodes, Felipe Espinoza, Tyler Powell and Jestice Bethea as defensive standouts.

The eighth grade "Blue" team used a pair of touchdown runs from Anthony Chavarria to ease by Joshua 22-0.

Chavarria scored on runs of 8 and 4 yards and Justin Larremore added a 6-yard TD burst. HJH added 2-point conversions on a pass to Austin Rudloff and a run by George Williams.

Josh Olivan picked off two Joshua passes and Ian Horton and Jacob Martin each recovered Owl fumbles to lead Stephenville's defensive effort.

Coaches also listed Keith Jackson and Chris Redmon as defensive standouts and Justin Baccus, Brandon Mayo and Brice Elston as offensive standouts.
