Tarleton Sports Information
Tickets are now on sale for the NCAA Division II men’s basketball South Central Region Championship in Stephenville this weekend.
Tarleton State is the top seed in the region, and is hosting the event for the third time in six years.
Capacity crowds filled Wisdom Gym for the Tarleton contests during the 2003 and 2004 regional tournaments in Stephenville, and Texan coach Lonn Reisman expects no less when action begins on Saturday.
“This is a big event for our campus, and a big event for the City of Stephenville,” Reisman said. “It’s a great way to bring the national spotlight to our student-athletes, our school and our community.”
Tournament quarterfinals begin at noon on Saturday, followed by semi-finals starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday and the championship at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The winner of the eight-team field advances to the Elite Eight in Springfield, Mass. March 26-29.
Various ticket options are available, including single session tickets, all-session passes and reserved, chair-back seat passes.
Single session tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students.
Session one features quarterfinals between Central Oklahma and Fort Hays State at noon Saturday, followed by Northwest Missouri against St. Edward’s at 2:30 p.m.
Session two begins at 6 p.m. with West Texas A&M battling Southwest Baptist, and concludes at 8:30 p.m. with Tarleton hosting St. Mary’s.
The third session includes both Sunday semi-finals, while the fourth is for the Tuesday’s championship.
All-session passes get spectators in to every game of the tournament, and cost $25 for adults and $10 for students.
The reserved seating, which includes the lower-level, purple chair-back seats behind the benches, cost $40.
Tarleton officials encourage reserved-seat seekers to purchase their passes early, as there are limited seats available.
Tickets can be purchased from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. today-Friday at the ticket window inside Wisdom Gym on the Tarleton campus.
