E-T Staff Report

MeKyla Leatherwood threw an abbreviated no hitter and Dublin handed San Saba a serving of quick justice in a 15-0 shutout to begin the District 8-2A softball season at San Saba High School Tuesday night.

San Saba's only base runners reached on a walk and an error as Leatherwood struck out seven of the 13 batters she faced.

At the plate, the Lady Lions were just as dominant, as Cayla Beck and Shelby Thiebaud each went 3-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Kim Ramos was 1-4 with a single that drove in three runs, while Kristin Rayborn was a perfect 2-2 with a pair of singles.  She scored each time.

Dublin is scheduled to host tournament action today and Saturday, but head coach Billy Young cautioned that inclement weather is a possibility.
